Current Issue of POZ

POZ is a magazine for the HIV community. For the first time an article featuring the diparity of transgender health is being featured. The title is "Don't Mess With The Girls" When they asked me for an interview, I had no idea what to expect but after reading the article, I must say - Good Job!

It's Official

http://www.sfgov.org/site/mayor_page.asp?id=26937

Theresa gave me her Commissioner badge tonight and I promised that I will pass it on to the next Commissioner from our community.

The official sworn in will take place on September 13 at 3:30pm but I haven't invited anyone yet. If you are reading this then you are invited

Things are in full swings and I have finished my health products site - heaven knows I need to supplement my income - I have to take a huge pay cut in order to serve the commmunity and I know that will pay off.

SAN FRANCISCO - Newsom's latest round of appointments

SAN FRANCISCO - Newsom's latest round of appointments

LOL! It's funny how I just started a new job and already the Chornicle is referring me as a health care advocate for the API Community and that is a taller order! Getting involved with the API community is still considered a new task for me, I have many community that I am standing up for and I hope that my community knows just because the newspaper didn't mentioned it does not mean that they are not included ( I did forward my bio to the Commision Secretary) Anyway, more will be revealed.

"A Transgender Woman brutally Murdered - Family Requests

Community attendance at her Vigil"

An African-American transgender woman, who went by the name Delicious,
but whose family knew as Tony Green, who was 46 years old, who was born
June 24, 1959, was murdered on Friday August 13, 2004 in the Franciscan
Motel - 6600 3rd Street.  Currently the murder is under investigation
and anti-transgender bias is being looked at as a motive.  Delicious'
family is holding a community vigil for her on Sunday, August 22, 2004,
at 7pm, at 27 Garlington Court (cross street: La Salle) in Bay View
Hunter's Point.

There will be a reception following the vigil in the same neighborhood
at Comma Court.  Friends, family members, and the community are welcome
to come & remember Delicious and support her family. Participants are
welcome to bring flowers, cards & food for the reception.

"Honoring Delicious' memory is key during this tragic time following her
murder.  We at CUAV encourage the community to come out & remember
Delicious, and support her family by attending the vigil this Sunday",
says Tina D'Elia, Hate Violence Survivor Program Director.  "Our hearts
go out to the family and the LGBT community who have lost an incredible
human being."

If anyone has questions about the vigil please contact Tina D'Elia or
