Fundraiser Tomorrow and Pride Idol in May

If you happen to pass by the Castro Country Club, come on in. I will be hosting a fundraiser barbeque from Noon to 5pm. This is a fundraiser to benefit the Pink Triangle on Twin Peaks for the Pride Month in June.

There will be other fundraisers happening in May - be on the look out.

Speaking of May, it is gonna be a busy month! May is  the month for Pride Idol. Now in its second year, Pride Idol is our own version on the main stream talent competition and the winner will be performing on our main stage at Pride.

More information can be found on SF Pride and Pride Idol sites.

What Now?

Why hasn't the pain subsided?.

Mom called and asked what I was doing.
I told her that I was writing and that I miss Grandma.

Mom told me to let go,
That Grandma is now pain free and without sufferings.

Grandma,
Can you read what I'm writing?

Is Tom's partner Randy teaching you English now?

When will this pain be gone?

I'm trying to pick up the pieces and
It seems that bits and pieces of memories
Will surface.

I use to miss my childhood
Because there was you, Grandpa and Mom
In all my fond memories.

Now,
You will be a memory of my past -
A past that is lost.
I don't miss my childhood as much as
I am missing you

The Cremation

My Grandmother's body was cremated this morning. The pain seemed bearable only because my family was there.

Grandma, are you really leaving us?

Diane told Grandpa that she dreamt of you last night,
Why didn't you come into my dream too?

Grandma,
Are you watching me now?

Do you see the tears I shed when I look at your pictures?
No words can describe how much I miss your voice...

"Keep your head up..."
"Sit up straight!"
"Listen to your Mom, don't get her upset..."

I miss you...

MOMENTS IN LIFE

My Aunt Helen sent me this shortly after my grandma's passing:

MOMENTS IN LIFE

There are moments in life when you miss someone
so much that you just want to pick them from
your dreams and hug them for real!

When the door of happiness closes, another opens;
but often times we look so long at the
closed door that we don't see the one
which has been opened for us.

Don't go for looks; they can deceive.
Don't go for wealth; even that fades away.
Go for someone who makes you smile,
because it takes only a smile to
make a dark day seem bright.
Find the one that makes your heart smile.

Dream what you want to dream;
go where you want to go;
be what you want to be,
because you have only one life
and one chance to do all the things
you want to do.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet,
enough trials to make you strong,
enough sorrow to keep you human, and
enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily
have the best of everything;
they just make the most of
everything that comes along their way.

The brightest future will always
be based on a forgotten past;
you can't go forward in life until
you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying
and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so at the end,
you're the one who is smiling and everyone
around you is crying.

Don't count the years--count the memories...........

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we
take,
but by the moments that take our breath away!
